Ate Up With Motor will be taking a brief hiatus while we recuperate and take care of some other commitments. We expect to return with new articles in September. In the meantime, enjoy our archives files, and feel free to offer any suggestions.

Thank you for all the highly detailed and well researched articles and stories here. Eagerly awaiting new stuff, thanks.

I have only recently discovered the site and am really enjoying going through the archives. Thank you for such an informative and well-researched series of articles!

Very much enjoy your articles. How about a look at the automotive industries of other areas on the planet? Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Scandanavia etc have long and rich automotive histories and some very interesting cars worth a worldwide audience. Cheers Paul

A well deserved vacation. We look forward to your return.

Wonderful site, informative and entertaining. Good luck and best wishes.

Thanks for the notice. Now I won't be checking in here everyday, eagerly awaiting your next article. At least until September, that is.

Have a good time off, and I look forward to reading through the archives.

  • voodoojoo  - Much Appreciation from the California Auto Museum

These articles have been a fascinating and wonderfully engaging look at automobiles - their design, the world they live in, and the people that define their character. I am currently working at the California Auto Museum in Sacramento, and I am working to inspire a similar understanding of cars among the committees of the museum. I, too eagerly await further articles.

As others have said, enjoy a well-deserved rest. Many, many thanks for all your efforts. I can't even imaging the amount of research required to produce such superb articles on a weekly basis!

Thank you for all the wonderful articles. I would (geekily) love an overview of Saab or Volvo, or of GM globally from the 1970s to today - particularly why the J-car was so differently received throughout the world.

The Volvo P1800 and 1800ES are definitely on my list -- the only reason I haven't done that one already is that I don't have any photos. People in the area have both (I've seen them in traffic), but I've yet to corner them to take pictures. I'd like to do the Saab 99 and 99 Turbo at some point, as well.

  • Syke  - Aargh!

Aargh! So much for a well looked forward Saturday afternoon for awhile. Enjoy yourself, and hopefully you're taking time off for happy reasons.

This does give me the chance to say thanks for the site - you're postings bring back memories of Special Interest Autos back in the early '70's when I first got into the antique car hobby (driving a '37 Buick Special at the time). I love the mini-histories, and please keep them coming.

Suggestions? How about British cars of the pre-British Leyland era, or, Japanese cars before, say 1967 (which is about when most of the country started discovering they were building cars and exporting them to the U.S.).
